Congratulations! You have reached second trimester. Second trimester is considered from 14 weeks to 26 weeks of pregnancy.
- Relief from nausea , vomiting , fatigue
- You will be now relieved from all the nausea, vomiting and fatigue. Some women also continue to experience these until the end of second trimester. If you are still continuing to experience these symptoms, hang in there!
- Increased appetite
- Your appetite will start increasing now to meet the growing baby’s demands. Ideally, you will want to eat something like every two hours. Avoid junk food and opt for fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs and lean meats.
- Feeling more relaxed and conscious
- Now that your pregnancy is confirmed and first trimester is done, it is natural to feel a rising confidence and relaxedness.
- Lots of free advice
- If you have announced your pregnancy by now, you should getting a lots of advice on do’s and don’ts during pregnancy. While it is important to listen to everyone, do your own research and check with your doctor if any doubt.
- You will know the baby gender ( if legal and allowed in your country)
- You will get to know the gender of the baby around 20 weeks. This is one of the most happiest moments during pregnancy that will imprint life long.
- Baby flutters and kicks
- You might start to feel your baby around 16-18 weeks. While it may be little later for many others, you will experience baby flutters progressing into movements and kicks gradually. It all feels so real all of a sudden.
- Gaining weight
- You will start gaining weight. Don’t worry, as long as you are in recommended amount of weight gain.
- Increased urination
- With the growing baby and pressure on uterus your urge to urinate will increase rapidly. Listen to your body 🙂
- Trouble sleeping on side
- Growing belly will now cause trouble sleeping. It is advised to sleep left as blood circulation to baby is at maximum in this position. If sleeping on sides is a problem, try a pregnancy pillow.
