You just found out you are pregnant and looking for some tips to get started with?
First off, Congratulations! Below are some of the most useful tips I found during my
both pregnancies, check them out below.

  1. Healthy Diet As soon as you found out you are expecting, the very right step is
to start eating healthy. This includes cutting or limiting caffeine, limiting sugars,
adding fruits and vegetables to the diet, eating dry fruits etc. You will need to watch
out on the sugar intake as this can lead to gestational diabetes.
  1. Milk and Eggs Milk has whole nutrition and along with eggs, provides good
amount of protein and other important vitamins to your growing fetus. Aim for at
least 1 or two eggs and milk 3 times a day. When I started adding eggs and milk to
my diet, I saw a good growth in baby weight in following month’s ultrasound.
  1. Prenatal or multivitamins Start taking prenatal vitamin as soon as you can.
Ideally, it is suggested that you start taking prenatal 6 months before trying to
conceive. Choose your prenatal wisely. There are so many brands available in the
market and each have their own combination of vitamins. Better late than never.
Start taking your prenatal right away, if any questions regarding this give a call to
    your nurse practitioner or doctor.
  1. Use a pregnancy pillow Somewhere around 5 months, you find starting to feel
difficult to sleep on your back. This is because baby’s weight falls straight on your
back, intestine and veins that carry blood to heart and uterus. Doctors suggest
sleeping on left side ideally, but it would not be comfortable with growing belly. A
pregnancy pillow will be your new best friend and makes sleep a lot better.
  1. Relaxing chair Investing in a reclining chair is an excellent choice. If you are a
working women or you need a comfy relaxing chair in your living room this would
be a great idea. Not only during the pregnancy, it will be help you during the
    feeding.
  1. Exercise With all the morning sickness, nausea and fatigue.. Exercise is something
you want to think about it at last. But as you progress along, usually around mid of
second trimester you will start feeling better. Adding exercise to your lifestyle at this
point helps in better blood circulation and mental relaxation which helps in
    regulating hormones.
  1. Keep Stress at Bay if not more far away Feeling stressed? Try to divert your
mind and thoughts to more positive stuff. Stress releases stress hormones and
studies show that these hormones can affect the behavior of baby. Try to watch
funny sitcoms, play relaxing phone games or talk to your mother or good friend to quickly
get back on track if feeling too stressed.
  1. Take rest as much as possible physically and mentally Pregnancy is all about
making a baby, your body and mind are working tirelessly in this process and it is
natural for you to feel tired all the time. Don’t stress out yourself on daily chores,
office work, relationships etc. instead rest as much as you can physically and both
    mentally.

It is a joyous time and every moment is all about you and your baby. Try to have
happy thoughts and it is important to have your mind at peace. Happy Pregnancy!
